Hello, i reckon that we can do another quiz, although this time we base it on media - Tv, film, newsapers, redio, music etc. and have more technologically advanced rounds, like what happened next? (on BIG TV screen) I have had a chat with a few people at 6th form, and they hav said that they will go, if they can, and pay £2 for it, doubling the money coming in... Tis just an idea, but what do u think??? Shrub

Agree totally with another quiz, but dont agree with charging £2 as pub quizzes only charge £1 and they usually offer prizes of upto £100.
Also remember that we only had 3 prizes up to 2 days b4 the quiz, until it was left to me to go knocking on shops doors
If we do another one is it for jambo or the unit? If for jambo, also remember that we're doing a race night in february, so you cant really ask the same people to come to another evening and spend money until about May time. Is that too late? i dont know when your money has to be in.
And we have unit fundraising in April with the bagpacking, along with the showjumping again in May (i'm sure we'll be offered it again).
I'm sure we can borrow the projector again though, as we'll use it for the racenight (which i reckon should bring in £200)

good idea, but i do see farmer's point
OR we could do a written quiz that you can buy for say £1 and still win prizes/money, that way its easier for people (and us) and its their job to give it back to us. thats what chris hayes from our jamboree group did and got loads of money.
what do you think?

oooh, i like that idea. Some Qs will have to be really hard / random, so they cant be looked up on tinternet. And ppls parents could sell copies to work colleagues....

MMM, all well and good, but people have to actually sell the quiz. As you were all unable to sell balloons for the race in July, I'm not convinced. By the way has the winner got the prize?

The balloons? yeah, someone who bought a ticket at the Mangotsfield fest won. ANd we paid them the money. Their card came back from Norway! If that hadnt come back, then Anna would have won, as hers came back from Shelton in Peterborough (honestly)!

Okay gang, the quiz has been set and emailed to everyone that i have an address for. Please try and sell it to as many people as possible, in school, college, work, wherever. Email it to them.
It only costs £1 and you have 4 weeks to do it. The prize is 15% of the total collected. Ive emailed it to about 50 people, if everyone gets at least 3 people to do it, then thats £100 atraight away. And 3 should be easy (youself, parents, grandparents)!
If you dont receive it, let me know and i'll forward it to you, it should also be uploaded to our main website as soon as the webmaster can do it (http://www.blenheimscouts.org/DownendExplorerScouts.htm
Lets give Jess, shrub and Bouncer as much support as possible please
